Designed as a long-range scout vehicle for a squad of special forces troopers, the Vigilius is designed with speed, stealth, and survivability in mind. Its primary customers are recon and intelligence units, but Merc commanders with the money to spend also appreciate this unit's information-gathering capabilities as well. Its high speed allows it to outrun most threats and combines with its minimal troop-carrying capabilites to make it an excellent choice for sabotage operations as well.
Since it was not intended for front-line combat, the Vigil only mounts limited weaponry primarily to slow enemies down and give it time to escape. It mounts basic weaponry in the form of 2 turret-mounted LRM-5s with Artemis, 2 front mounted Medium Lasers, and 2 rear-mounted Small Lasers.
